The Gitts
Behind every small business are the hands that built it and the love in which it's planted.
Swan Island Dahlias has been family-owned and operated by the Gitts since 1963.

Father & Daughter Duo
Our second and third-generation dahlia farmers, Heather (Gitts) Schloe and Nicholas Gitts.
Nicholas and Linda
The long-time couple have been married since 1989.

The Schloe Family
Heather and Brendon with their two children, Cooper and Gabbie.
Heather & Brendon
Our power couple has been married since 2001, and both work full-time at the farm.

Nicholas Gitts
Ever wonder why we host the ZNA Northwest Koi Show? Nicholas has a passion for koi!
You can almost always find him at the farm, but in his free time, he also likes to travel and follow sports.
Heather (Gitts) Schloe
The dahlia expert, the mastermind behind our Gift Shop, and the one responsible for coming up with brilliant ideas for the farm!
She loves her family, baking/cooking, being outside, and traveling. Be sure to say hi if you see her at the farm!

Brendon Schloe
The man who takes care of all our technology problems (thank goodness)! He's always cracking jokes, making us laugh, and enjoying life to the fullest.
Brendon is a cheese connoisseur who enjoys trying new foods. His favorite activities are spending time with family, and taking naps whenever comfy.
Cooper Schloe
Cooper is 13 years old. When he's not in school or snuggling with his cat Poppy, he's out playing lacrosse and often travels to different states in order to compete. He has an electric personality and is taking after his dad with the jokes and making everyone laugh.

Gabbie Schloe
Gabbie is 19 years old and attending OSU, and she's currently a member of the sorority Alpha Omicron Pi. When she is not studying Business, Marketing, and Advertising or raising money for charity, she is running the farm's social media.
She loves country music, and can be found playing it at full volume in her Bronco! She loves to bake/cook like her mamma and has a smile that will light up a room for days.
Sisters-in-Law
Heather and Kaisha, sister-in-laws that love all things sunshine and farmhouse!
