Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

I think I got 500 blooms out of this single tuber! I sell cut flowers from my Solvang, CA garden and this one performed above and beyond with a season of deep cutting!
I love the way this dahlia goes into arrangements with its tight form and long stems. The plant produces many blooms and doesn’t seem to slow down in the heat or cooler weather fall brings.
Maarn is just an amazing plant. The color is so rich and warm! Nonstop blooms for a long season of joy. She is a healthy robust queen!
Maarn gets to work early. Blooms started in July and just kept coming. Hundreds of perfect orange flowers on a healthy plant. Absolutely wonderful dahl!
This one was a freebie and I wasn't so sure about it but I am in love!! It's so pretty, she sits between Einstein and Mikayla Miranda in my garden. It produced so many long stemmed blooms and lasts a long time in a vase
