How to Grow
Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Daydreamer was absolutely outstanding and one of my favorites this year. The color is beautiful and delicate and the blooms were long lasting. This one is a keeper. The plant was very sturdy and healthy.
Day Dreamer was one of my favorites to arrange with this season. The flowers were abundant and change color slightly based on the weather. The soft yellow and peach mixed nicely with lots of other flowers. My only complaint is that these were the most fragile variety in my garden. Even with stakes and supports, the main and lateral stems wanted to snap right off the plant. Otherwise it's a really lovely variety!
Daydreamer is a keeper and has earned a permanent spot in my garden! Beautiful soft yellow & peach blooms with a touch of pink. Good vase life and has been a consistent producer. She blooms rather early too.
Early bloomer, beautiful peachy color - yellow with some pink, soft & delicate, decent production, a lovely dahlia! It earned a permanent place in my garden!
I should have given this one more space - healthy, sturdy stems that keep sending up bloom after bloom. They last long enough in a vase to make them a good cut flower (5 to 7 days if cut before fully open.) The plant itself is nice too - lots of laterals but nice, rich foliage, not leggy.
This dahlia took me by complete surprise. Day Dreamer is now the ONE dahlia I would take with me to a deserted island. I’ve grown over 100 varieties and it’s just stunningly beautifully. Delicate waterlily form, lots of reliable and decently early blooms. The coloring is ethereal like a soft sunrise glow. Good tuber production for a home grower. Why don’t more people talk about this dahlia?
This dahlia became one if my top 5 put if the 318 varieties I planted. She is perfectly named because she had soooo many blooms and the color is breathtaking in my PNW garden. I do find myself spellbound and day dreaming around her! THE BEST tuber producer I had in my garden. Cannot be without her.
This is one of my understated favorites. Most are more light peach with a very pale yellow base. Goes well with oranges or pinks - romantic look - mostly 6-12 inch stems. Good producer - not the most, but not the least.
Bloomed well, one of my favorites.
To add to the other review, the flower was completely yellow. Quite prolific, and the yellow small flowers are quite cute in a bouquetn
I grew this to get a peachy dahlia and what I've ended up with is a yellow dahlia. There is no peach on the blooms whatsoever. That said, the blooms are very pretty, large, have long stems, required minimal staking (I pinched the terminal bud), and very consistent. Every day I've got blooms on this plant. They're just 100% yellow.
In a row with lots of others that did well. This one didn't put a lot of blooms and it started 2 weeks later than others. Was next to lemonade. Pretty colors and bloom itself lasted a long time in the vase
The Day Dreamer bulb produced an abundance of beautiful flowers, more than any of my other dahlia plants that I ordered last year. The stems are strong and the flowers mix well with other dahlias in bouquets. A definite favorite!
The stems grow fairly long, so they need staking, but they've survived a huge wind storm and ash for days this summer and are still producing beautiful blooms!
