How to Grow

Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Update to my earlier review

She took awhile to get rolling but later in the summer I got the bright pink blooms shown in the pictures!

Another unexpected surprise

Grew Mamacita for the first time in 2025. Just had to comment that the blossoms were so much more beautiful than the picture on the website. This was not the biggest or most prolific dahlia in my garden this year but the blossoms warmed my heart every time I looked at them. They are simply lovely.

Just ok

Not what I was expecting based on the pictures. The blooms are small and almost all white. I thought it would be really bright!
