Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Melissa M is now on her second season for me. The tubers stored very well. She is a prolific bloomer and the stems are nice and strong. I love this dahlia!
This was the first and last bloom of all my dahlias and very pretty. It was not the WOW of my dahlia garden, but it was reliable. I may not grow it again since it was not as pretty as the others, but a very strong and produced a lot of flowers
One of my favorite performers. Just lovely.
THIS WAS SUCH A VIBRANT PINK AND THE MORE I CUT SO MANY MORE BLOOMS CAME ON AND LASTED A LONG TIME I HOPE ITS AS BEAUTIFUL THIS YEAR AS LAST VERY TALL PLANT AND THE HUMMINGBIRDS REALLY LOVED THIS ONE
