How to Grow
Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Lovely form and good size for arrangements. Strong stems and ages beautifully. Highly recommend
The form of the blooms is perfect, and then with the yellow center is seems like it's glowing. Gorgeous. It wasn't my tallest or most prolific dahlia, but I'll definitely grow it again. Long stems and good vase life, too.
This elegant flower has a powerful dignity, like an old soul. Long stems and less foliage, likes to sprout new stems from the base, so I cut back each stem after the main 2-3 flowers fade. I am a first-year grower, so all my dahlias struggled until I figured out pest control and cut-back routines. I consider this Dahlia an easy to grow survival-minded Dahlia with a weird kind of 'presence' in the vase. My absolute and utter favorite -- looking forward to future years when it reaches great heights like other growers report above.
This is my tallest plant, around 6 feet, should have cut it back sooner! Late to bloom but was worth the wait, will have to see how many I get by the end of the season. Soft pink and yellow, and literally glows! Nice strong stem and is a beautiful star for any arrangement.
Blooms are 7ft and need to be pulled over to see. But worth it--very beautiful.
This is my favorite new addition this year. I would rate her on level with Sheer Heaven dahlia. I agree with the above reviews. She’s about 6.5 feet for me
My favorite this year, the effect is LUMINOUS with the creamy /yellow center and light to deep pink petals. In the evening it looks like the darker pink in one of the photos. I had ordered 2 this year because I knew I would love it, unfortunately one of the tubers was mismarked so a replacement is being sent next spring. I am so happy I ordered this one, wish I had pinched it though for more blooms - oops :)
Gabbie has been a prolific bloomer this year. Since she is in a raised bed I am not certain of the height, but at least 6 1/2’. This dahlia is a lovely addition to bouquets and lasts at least 5-6 days.
No joke this dahlia is at least 12 feet tall in my garden. Wish I could upload a picture. Needless to say I should have pinched it but didn’t. I have three blooms forming at the very top. One partially opened today. I’m going to have to get a ladder out to cut it. From what little I can see of the bloom (from down below) it looks very pretty.
Gabbie's Wish was my favorite dahlia this year. Definitely needs strong staking at 6.5 ft tall but lots of blooms once it got going and wow are they stunning. Even with pinching the stalks were like broom sticks but flower stems were sturdy and normal size. The soft pink with light yellow centers on a waterlily style bloom....just gorgeous.
Long stocks and beautiful performance.
Her colors our luminous..just gorgeous!!
Humble little tuber, took over 5 weeks to sprout, but now it is about 6.5 feet tall! I have aspen trees growing smack against its west side so it is shaded in afternoon and blocked from wind. It bloomed for me in the first week of September, 2 blooms so far and many buds to go. Its color here is a lighter beigy rose than pictured, with the pale yellow center. Its lovely.
