CHEERS

This tuber produced a massive plant with lots of blooms. The actual color is much more vibrant and dramatic than pictured. I loved the combination of bright blooms with the dark stems. This plant made me an admirer of dark stems.

Good producer with strong stems. They are a watermelon color with a magenta center.

Not crazy about the color of Cheers (it’s difficult to pair with other colors), but boy, is this a healthy variety! My plant has grown to over 5 feet tall and 4.5 feet wide, and has not required any staking. The plant has been blooming like crazy since early June (it is now September) and has over 60 blooms on it at any given time. So, if you like robust plants that won’t quit, order this dahlia today!!

One of the most prolific dahlias I have grown. In the first year I was able to give a friend 15 blooms at one time from my one plant for an event she had in early October and still had blooms left on the plant for myself. The stems are straight and long, great for cutting. My plant reached over 8' high. It produced so many tubers (over 20) that after giving away many of them I was still left with more than I had room for in the sun. I ended planting 3 in sunny locations, and 2 in areas that get less than 3 hours of sun per day. Even the two in the shade produced blooms, though significantly less than those in the sun.

I have had more than two dozen dahlias from Swan Island in recent years and I would rate this as one of my all time favorite dahlias. The plant is vigorous and healthy, with lots of bloom even in year 1. The flowers are a gorgeous color. They are great for vases and last well in the house. It is one of my top three for cutting along with Fire Magic and Chloe Janae.
