Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.

Beautiful pristine white blooms of 6" top a lush 4 1/2' plant. The petals fold back to cup the stem on this gorgeous flower and it is especially lovely in larger arrangements. A good white in a larger cutting variety with nice stems and foliage.
One of the best white ball dahlias we have ever grown. Stunning 4" white flowers which can show some lavender blush depending on weather, on a 4' plant.
The stems are too short for cutting, but for in the garden it is fine. It is always covered with flowers. As mentioned above the flowers are more open and not thick.

This came in the gardeners choice collection, otherwise it wouldn't have been on my list to grow. It is a very good bloomer, and has long stems for cutting, but it's just Bleh in looks. Mine isn't as full as the pictures show. More of a loose, open flower.

Beautiful and vigorous
Such a gorgeous flower, classic waterlily style. Reminds me a bit of bridezilla a touch- but flowers much larger in my garden/is a taller plant. Lots of flowers with long stems too!
