I did not expect much from this one this year because I started my tubers indoors a month ahead, and the day I planted this one out in my garden, a strong wind broke everything off the tuber. I was just going to throw the tuber out, and I am so glad I decided to put it in the ground because I have the most sturdy and wonderful plant that grew up from that little tuber that was stripped of its growth. (I wish I knew back then that I should have rooted large stem that broke off, but I am still pretty new to dahlias and am learning more each year!). The sweet yellow flowers look wonderful in my bouquets of other dahlias, and I like the pop of yellow since I have so many purple, pink, and white blooms as I gravitate toward those when shopping for my garden. This little flower is not the most stunning of dahlias, but there is something so mesmerizing to me about ball dahlias with their perfect symmetry in a little round globe. This is a lovely dahlia to add to your garden and your cut bouquets.
