How to Grow

Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Gorgeous deep red blooms with very long stems. I pinched early but clearly not enough…it was 7-8 feet tall. Very floriferous!

This dahlia is on its second year in my garden. It is gorgeous. The flowers are are a very deep red with a lighter green center. It has been my most prolific bloomer this summer. It is a wonderful cut flower, staying fresh about 5 days and with long stems. The flowers grow on tall strong stocks.

Gorgeous Deep Red

This dahlias was the first to bloom in my PNW garden. As described, long stems and profuse bloomer. The color is lovely in arrangements and plays well with others. Mine is well over 5’ tall.

Worth buying to me

I bought this flower because it’s cool that it’s named after two people in my life (a mother and daughter, no less). It didn’t flower the first year (but it’s due to a wrong planting location on my end), but the tuber duplicated. So on its second year, I have two tubers! Flowers are more purple than red, but stems are looong (as per specs). The flowers last between 4 days and a week in the vase, depending on how early in its life I cut it from the plant.

lots of tall flowers

Very tall in my zone 5 garden, Massachusetts. Lots of flowers with long stems, great for arrangements. Loved them so much I tried covering them in the early frost nights to extend the bloom. I can only do that so long in the Northeast.

More purple than deep red

The color was not like the photo. More purple than deep red. Otherwise did well

Fantastic Red

The petals on Debora Renae are striped down the middle with a lighter red band. I am not normally a fan of red but I took a chance on this dahlia and I'm so glad I did.

Lots of blooms

This dahlia has so many blooms. It is my second most prolific this year. However, they only last about 2 days after cutting before wilting. It would make a nice addition to a garden if you aren't planning on using them for arrangements.
