I might be disappointed in this because I favor dahlias with flowers one can fully appreciate while walking by. Even with supports, I the flowers on this one face downwards. So I haven't really been able to appreciate the beauty of individual blooms. It is in a very sunny location and other varieties of dahlias right next to it have very upright blooms, so it is this variety, not the location. It also is not a great cut flower, and I have been enjoying dahlias for cutting a lot this year. However, a friend of mine with a more informal and wild garden really likes the dramatic flowers and intense color on this plant, so I will be passing this on to her. I think it would work well in gardens with lots of plants, where this would be one of many.
