GABRIELLE MARIE

This flower bloomed and bloomed in the fall. The color is stunning pinkish/peach in the middle and graduated to pale yellow on the ends. A few blooms were more yellow. The stems were good for cutting and the flower size were at least 4 inches across and some larger. In zone 8a on East Coast and we had a very hot dry summer.

Bought and grew in 2024. When it first bloomed it looked just like the photos on SID site, and then again in the fall. I only got less than 10 blooms the looked like the photo. Once it got hot and perhaps stressed from drought, all the blooms were blown out. Might be good for an area that stays cool and gets a lot of moisture.

I got this tuber as part as the Fall Into Collection. I would like to start this review by saying that this summer has been very hot and I know that a lot of growers are having difficulty this year. I am zone 8b. So keep that in mind regarding this review.

The color that has resulted with this flower does not look like any of the pictures. My flower is mainly pale yellowish with a hint of pink. Flowers stems are too short to be cut flowers. I'm hoping that as we move into fall the flower color will change like other reviews have mentioned. As of right now, this tuber will be replaced for another variety next year.

My satisfaction or dissatisfaction on all flowers start first with color. As you can see by the photos, Gabriel Marie changes throughout it's growth, but once it hit the sweet spot of a pale peach, it had me. The quality was very good, the plant was healthy and the price was good too.

As a Swan Island product, developed and produced there, I believe you can trust it to be exactly like they say. I mention this because I bought Honeymoon from another vendor, not knowing it was developed by Swan Island, and they sent me a bright yellow tuber instead. you can bet that I will be very careful in the future and only buy SIP tubers here. That was a lesson well worth going through. When you find a dependable grower, stick with them.

This is one of the dahlias I have been cutting the most this summer. I planted this in the spring and it has been quite prolific. The flowers are quite long lasting both on the plant and in the vase. I have this in a bed of "sunset colors" and am very pleased with how it fits in.
