How to Grow

Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Amazing. The petals start to curl over at its end tips, bending downwards as the bloom fully opens, creating the loveliest shaped blooms. The first year I planted in a bad spot and didn't get to see, but well worth the wait!

Beautiful!

This flower was one of my best bloomers last year. The color is so rich and multi-dimensional, it was one of my favorites and also just kept blooming! 10/10 recommend (zone 8A)

Absolutely gorgeous

I splurged on this one in 2023. Was my favorite dahlia of the year; unfortunately the unexpected deep freeze we got that winter took it out (I usually leave my dahlias in the ground, but I dug this one up and kept it in the garage, which still got too cold). Would love to replace, but it is a little out of my price range. Keeping it in my wish list for now. HIghly recommend it for color, uniqueness, and a gorgeous cut flower.

Eye-Catching Color, Great Cut Flower

Pricey and doesn’t seem to be as prolific as others but the blooms it does send up are gorgeous. Striking ombré tones in deep red to rich gold, each petal seems to be outlined. Lasts a week or more in a vase for me.

Stunning flowers!

These flowers were wonderful, I'm ordering more this year. Unfortunately, this plant produced few blooms this summer, it was weak and much less enthusiastic than most of it's 90+ buddies :-(

Worth the money!

This has easily become one of my favorite dahlias after growing it this past season. Each bloom is like a work of art! I love the gradation of color from the center of the bloom to the tips, it's absolutely gorgeous. Some blooms will be much deeper and richer in color, giving you a nice array or color to choose from when cutting. One of my favorites to cut for vases in my home, and paired nicely with others in my garden. It is pricier, but definitely worth it!

WOW!!! Stole the show this year!!!

Photos cannot capture what the eye sees in this bloom. From the moment of the first petal break, I knew I had something special here! Planted in full sun, the blooms were a fiery orange-red, but also read as rusty rose depending on what it was paired with. An absolute stunner that is in high demand from my customers and florists during the transition to fall. Truly worth the price, and looking forward to more blooms over the coming years.

Stunning

First year growing dahlias and splurged on this one which was new for the season, in my region (6B) it produced a moderate amount of flowers late, but they took the spotlight and were stunning. I wish I could post a photo of this gorgeous flower.
