Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Beautiful flowers on strong stems. Doesn't need as much help and staking as other varieties I grow. The flowers point up and look so bright and cheery. Flowers consistently and usually one of the first to flower for me in the season. Very similar to daddy's girl but has a bright yellow glow in the middle.
I typically don't leave a negative review before trying the plant for 2 seasons. Sadly, it's one of those that disappointed me repeatedly. Its first and only bloom was October 11 in the region where the average frost date is October 15. The plant simply isn't that vigorous.
1st time Dahlia grower. This dahlia was in my first order and it did great. I live in Central IL. I had dozens of blooms throughout its flowering season and it grew to over 8' tall. In the fall when I dug it up, the tuber was well developed and in great shape. Very ethereal blooms, just loved it as a cut flower.
