How to Grow
Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Bought 30 tubers this year and a third of them never got a foot high. This beauty is pickling up all the slack!!! She is stunning… long lasting giant blooms. Not a shocking orange… much prettier than pictured.
I grew 50 varieties this year, and this was my favorite! Early, vigorous and the most incredible shimmery orange glow! Everyone wants a tuber of this one!
Already producing brilliant flaming blooms and it's July in Minnesota!
This dahlia is my favorite. It is a true neon orange and the petal shape is my favorite type. Smaller plant, which I appreciate, but it has lots of buds nevertheless. Next year, I am only going to divide it in half and hopefully get two large plants. Simply stunning. I go out and look at it all of the time!
I LOVE this color. It is a stunning almost florescent orange. Lots of blooms too.
I am growing dahlias for my first time ever this year. I picked a few varieties, but Swan's Olympic Flame is by far my favorite. I love the size and the fiery orange-red color. I definitely want to plant more than one of these next year! Highly recommend!
This dahlia is stunning! It is the most vibrant orange I have seen.
This flower is a real eye catcher! Foliage is nice and many blooms.
This flower...... I planted some several years ago and last year it came up, looked at my 12’x6’ raised bed and kick all the other flowers out! Vigorous beyond words and somewhat irritating to be frank. This year it has allowed two others to grow, OMG and Nick Sr. It eliminated the other three in the bed however. But this year I noticed something I have never seen in a flower:
The petals are covered in glitter. When you hold it in the sun just right you can see the sparkles. This one is a must grow in your garden.
