How to Grow
Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

so so many blooms and gorgeous color.
This is the star of my back garden! The color is almost neon the blooms are beautiful and the plant was full the whole season. It is a wonderful cut flower and held up for several days in a vase. I will always grow this beauty, she is my favorite hands down and I normally prefer ball shapes.
Beautiful hot pink blooms throughout the season, long vase life, strong stems. Gets very tall (5 feet) if not cut back. Zone 9b
Didn't get any blooms out of this one the first year... (weird short growing season). But decided to give it another chance and it's blooming mid-season. Bushy, tall plant and looks like it will be prolific. But for some reason the bugs love them too... all the petals are being chomped before they even open. Guess I'll be covering them!
First bloom is opening in zone 8a on August 2nd. A dozen side branches, over 40 buds on 4 1/2' plant. Should be spectacular in a week or so.
This was the star of everyone's garden I gave it to this past summer. With a severe
drought and hot days, it still performed to the utmost. It is a vivid hot pink and perfectly matches it's name.
i received this as a gift, dropped her next to hot tamale. lost her name tag. all season she was full of leaves and nothing. then after a storm there she was Magnificent! huge impressive it screams Hey!! i'm the star! amazed! i'm buying 4 more
This dahlia was a prolific bloomer, had a long vase life, and good sturdy stems. Mine was definitely a deeper purple, and less of a pink. Definitely one of my favorite dahlias.
I received this one as a free gift, so I didn't pay it too much mind when ordering, but it has definitely impressed! It just pops out from the corner where it's planted, demanding to be noticed.
