Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Beautiful as described sturdy plant - perfect for containers, which this one is in and it is full of blooms! These beauties change the mood of every bouquet! Such a wonderful dahlia at a great price!
This color is amazing. Started a black cherry color. By fall it was a deep maroon. Looked great is a vase with other dahlias. I like this size because it is easy to arrange as a cut flower. Looked great in the beds. I ordered a new one for this year because I loved it so much. I did not want to be without it. Happy surprise- a few tubers wintered over, so now I have lots . . . and one to share.
Truly one of my favorite dahlias I've owned. A prolific bloomer, medium vase life, and very beautiful black blooms.
This one is a deep deep almost black red and is absolutely gorgeous.. It's an early July bloomer and are still going strong in September. It's moderately bushy with multiple blooms. Needs staking. Growing it in a bright deep blue container and it looks amazing.
Sturdy container plant, lots of beautiful, dark blooms.
