Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Mine didn’t appear above ground so I dug it up and it had gone to a very mushy state . All the others I ordered from Swan Island are doing very well.
This is 1 of 2 stunning dahlias I added to my garden from Swan Island last year. The other is Clearview Jonas. The plant was always covered in blooms and just a stunner. It was not bothered by beetles and always looked amazing. Highly recommended.
Love this one! Big flowers and plenty of them. Starts blooming early and easy to grow. What's not to love??
Honeymoon with a hand full of others became a permanent bloom for me to grow. Prolific, Radiant, as well a compliment to other blooms like Bluetiful.
The color of Honeymoon is a beautiful soft peach floor with hints of pink in center half. The blooms are as described at 8 " if not slightly larger. The plant is 3 - 3 1/2 feet tall. A lovely plant and covered in these spectacular blooms on strong stems.
