How to Grow

Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Inadvertently bought two of these. Neither grew well or bloomed. Mulch pile.

Tough year in Connecticut

Very beautiful. This was a tough Hot,sunny and mega drought year. First blooms opened in late August, very unusual But thrilled to see this pristine large delicate pink Waterlily. I think I need to give up naming my favorites because I have so many. SID comes thru every time. The color & form of this flower is really gorgeous.

Pretty once bloomed, but very few stems

I have an issue with first year dahlias, and I'm not sure if that's what happened here, or if there is truly a problem with this breed. Her stems grew wonky, and she flopped over most of the time. I finally let her stay on the ground, and she produced a few flowers that could only be used in bud vases, not the bridal bouquets I had wanted to use her for. Going to give her a go next year and give her better support, but it will be a shame to cull her, as the color is perfect for summer weddings.

Hasn't survived storage

Beautiful flower, but I have not had good luck with storage as it has not survived even when those stored around it in same conditions have. Also, only had 1 flower on it this year even though others around it were very prolific.

Not a keeper

This variety failed in storage twice unlike everything else I had (I store 10+ varieties every year).
