How to Grow
Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Hoping next year will be stronger
This plant is so consistent- I grow it every year. Beautiful long lasting purple blooms that look great in any bouquet. Excellent tuber producer. A definite favorite in my garden!
My third with her, she is a blossom machine! Not a pretty plant in the garden, the foliage is sparse and low allowing dozens of perfect blooms on long erect stems. I take mass cuttings in to work and people comment that they look fake because of their uniform perfection!
I love the color but it only produced 2 flowers last year and 1 flower this year. It's a very small flower.
Wow, i will never have a summer garden without this one. Blooms dont stop! Vigorous, with wonderful color, form and vase life! Did I mention its thriving in a container?!
Ivanetti finally bloomed 9/24/22. It should have its own video showing front to back in its glory. The form and color of this flower is exquisite & hard to beat. I’ve bought this flower a number of years and will continue. Perfect cut flower and magnificent in the mix. I am very grateful for every flower that arrives on the plant no matter how few I get.
One of the only dahlias I successfully overwintered. It's already blooming thanks to starting indoors in early April. Perfect flowers that have a nice pattern on the back petals so they look great at any angle.
I bought 8 different dahlias this year, and this was my favorite!! It bloomed early, the blooms are stunning, and it just kept producing. I will definitely be getting more of this one!
An early bloomer in Southern CA with a lot of branching. Many flowers on a healthy looking plant. Flowers keep a long time in the vase. The color is dark and lovely- more like the dark purple color in the middle picture.
Grown on Long Island, NY - This plant stays very compact at 3 1/2 feet as described. I really love its color, even though I thought it's not me. It really stands out in the vase and ties other things together. Extremely long cutting window. The blooms don't blow open too fast.
One of the top three favorites in my PNW garden. Blooms profusely. Looks amazing with Diva, Lights Out and oranges. Flawless!
This was one of my favorites this year, blossoms stood up well against the rain in the fall. Perfect cut flower.
Another stunning ball. 4' compact, growing long straight stems. Perfect cut flower, 12" average stem
This deep purple globe dahlia was just added to my garden this year and I love it. A friend shared an extra tuber and I planted it with no expectations. It was a surprise. It is a deep purple and fuschia petals and is so symmetrical it will make you stop in wonder at how perfect nature can be. Love it, don't miss picking this one up.
On a nice autumn day, bees will sit on these flowers for an entire day, burrowing down into the petals.
