How to Grow

Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

This blooms are very pretty, but do not have much incurve to them. Only 3 blooms by September 17th and only 4 inches, not the 5 inches advertised.

A real beauty

I purchased about 40 varieties from Swan Island Dahlias last year. This one was a big tuber producer and had gorgeous flowers. This season I planted many and gave others to friends as it was a show-stopper.

First photo♥️

For me, Beep Beep has always been exactly the color of the first photo in this Swan Island line up. That’s my number one reason to adore it! Unusual, yet completely workable. It’s form also makes it a stand out both in arrangements and in the garden. Consistently great tuber producer. Could not BELIEVE there had been no reviews until now. This one’s really fun!
