How to Grow

Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Bees’ paradise

This was my husband’s favorite dahlia this year. The colors are vibrant and happy, and it grows to a nice compact size that requires minimal staking and tying. The bees LOVED these flowers and were regularly snuggled up on the big pillowy centers. I grow them near my patio for a beautiful pop of color.

Fascinating , colorful Bashful

Mesmerizing blend of colors; forthright blooms; great cut flowers; floriferous plants. Fun to plant near hot pink Aster Alma Potschke (which I Chelsea Chop so that their blooms can mingle). in the years when I haven't planted Bashful I miss it. At the end of the season as it gets cold, bees cradle themselves in the center where they happily pass away.

Reliable and prolific bloomer

I look forward to this bloom every year! Very reliable and it is consistently the first to bloom (July) in my Minnesota garden. The bees love them! A great cut flower that are fun to add to any small bouquet.

Stunning prolific bloomer

This dahlia is doing wonderful in my garden and is a stunning dahlia which stands out due to the deep color contrast between the purple petals and yellow center. Lots of blooms so far.

Cute Cute Cute!

These were one of my earliest bloomers this year. They’re just perfect, happy little loves. I love that there’s less need to stake with these and that they do well cut. Lots of blooms! Super thrilled to have them and highly recommend.

One of my favorites!!

The photos don't do it justice, I think it's the pale tips that makes the flowers really stand out. Very reliable and I like the shorter height.

Bashful is joyful!

This is one of our favorites. It is funny that it is called Bashful as it is exuberant in its joy! Loads of tall, proud, cheerful blooms with great, fat landing pads for the bumble bees that LOVE it. Will plant every new tuber it gave me next year.

Early and Prolific Bloomer

I planted in mid-April and it first bloomed on July 4th. I live in MN and have a relatively short growing season so early bloomer is very desirable for me. Now it constantly have 10 more flowers well above the foliage. Lovely and
bees love it too!
