How to Grow
Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Fuzzy Wuzzy is a fun dahlia to grow mainly for the differences in each flower it puts out. No two blooms look alike. I have it growing next to Checkers, and the two of them together are gorgeous. It is a proliferous bloomer. (Zone 5/6 in south central Michigan)
The bush is on the shorter side but has the most amazing beautiful unique blooms, one of my favorites this year, despite our drought
2ndyear of gorgeous blooms
These dahlias remind me of candy canes—very pretty! The blossoms are smaller than some of the others I purchased, but they are so pretty. My plant grew to about 4 feet and is very sturdy and prolific. Would definitely recommend!
The blooms that I did get were disappointing, they didn't last on the bush, or as a cut flower. They attracted the most pests.
Fuzzy Wuzzy is back for a 3rd year. It is beautiful as ever. They darken their pinks as they bloom longer. Bloomed 6/12/2022 in Paso Robles, CA. I have split the rhizome and added a new location in the front yard for 2022. Lovely little gem.
2022 My 3 plants have sprouted. Too early for blooms. As they age the blooms get more distinct and bold. The blooms are 3 inches on the average with some 4 inches. They are eye catching. First planted in 2020. Tolerate the 100s of the summer.
The Fuzzy Wuzzy was one of my most diappointing selections. It took a long time to bloom and then barely produced any flowers (I think I got 2 flowers by the end of the season) and none of them looked like the picture. They were just plain pink.
I absolutely love this Dahlia..At first I thought they made a mistake and sent me a different Dahlia since when the flowers opened up they started out all pink but gradually got the white tips. Such a beauty
I love this dahlia. The flowers are amazing, however I have not had any luck as a cut flower. It starts to wilt within one day.
I had about 75% of the blooms grow up as shown on the pictures but I also had some flowers that were almost all pink and with only some white with malformed petals on the sport blooms. I don't know if it was an issue with not enough fertilizer in the early part of the season or if I just got a weird tuber.
If you want to get long enough stems for using this as a cut flower, you'll have to sacrifice and nip off the extra buds. When I allowed it to grow unhindered the stems were way too short to put in a vase, so I suggest pruning aggressively to achieve the desired results.
Overall for the price, I still rate this 4.5 out of 5
Love the color and fun design of these flowers, but slow to grow (definitely not 4') and slow to produce. Getting less than 1 cutting per week from it in peak season.
Very Pretty and Unusual. Split into 2palnts the winter of 2020. The colors look like the picture.
