How to Grow

Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Beautiful

This color is amazing. Started a black cherry color. By fall it was a deep maroon. Looked great is a vase with other dahlias. I like this size because it is easy to arrange as a cut flower. Looked great in the beds. I ordered a new one for this year because I loved it so much. I did not want to be without it. Happy surprise- a few tubers wintered over, so now I have lots . . . and one to share.

Favorite

Truly one of my favorite dahlias I've owned. A prolific bloomer, medium vase life, and very beautiful black blooms.

Deep deep red

This one is a deep deep almost black red and is absolutely gorgeous.. It's an early July bloomer and are still going strong in September. It's moderately bushy with multiple blooms. Needs staking. Growing it in a bright deep blue container and it looks amazing.

Sturdy & packed with blooms

Nice height around 3.5 feet, needs staking only because it's loaded with blooms all summer! Pumped them out June-October in the PNW. 10-15 blooms at a time. A great "neutral" for arrangements, pairs well with pinks, oranges, purples and whites.

Outstanding

I have this dahlia planted in a container on my deck and it is absolutely beautiful. The height is perfect for a container planting and the color in contrast to the foliage is beautiful. The structure is compact and sturdy.
