Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

This one is new for me this year and I really like it. There are faint pink stripes that line the back of the petals with such a deep dark color. Highly recommend.
Vigorous healthy plant, super strong and long stems and lo mg lasting cut flowers especially for a decorative. The color is deep but there is enough color variation from inner to outer petals to give this dark richly colored flower depth and dimension. Great dahlia!
Healthy tuber that lead to many beautiful dark blooms in late summer. These flowers have a great vase life for a dahlia.
Vigorous plant gave me beautiful dark purple red round ball shaped flowers which are great for cutting. I have her near hollyhill black beauty and she is the same color, just has slightly smaller and eounder flowers. Will continue to grow.
