Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

I don’t know why more people don’t buy this stunner!! Talk about a flower with personality and quick to be a conversation starter. Incredible crisp white tipped with magical magenta. What’s not to love?!!! Cactus heaven! Prolific producer in a small compact package. Highly recommended and prompted me to buy BedHead this year
great distinctive dahlia! (wow factor)
ours reached 4.5-5' tall (not the shorter 3.5' mentioned in description)
thin stems cause some blooms to droop
very prolific bloomer all summer
I live on the far southern coast of Oregon and this flower has been a very good producer. The colors are gorgeous and my friends all comment on how distinctive they are. The only thing that I wish was that the flower stems were a bit sturdier.
this one is a good producer for me. The blooms are so pretty, and I get a lot of them. Very nice in an arrangement with Diva or Beets Me.
These were beautiful last year. Stems were thinner but they looked beautiful with the spidery flowers. I got SO many blooms off this one. Gorgeous mixed with my other cut flowers.
