Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Out of all of my dahlias, this one was my favorite. Mine had a combination of colors that made it just gorgeous, and I definitely want to grow it again. I am sad that it is sold out, but it is not surprising. Love the colors!
Beautiful hardy prolific beauty. Must grow for me!
Gorgeous girl, everyone who sees her wants her!
I love this one. Color is vibrant and decent vase life too!
Very pretty! This dahlia doesn't have very long stems but the flowers are beautiful and the photos the people at Swan Island have posted are true to life, not enhanced as some suppliers like to do. Too early to tell if this is a good value for the price which does seem a tad high, to be honest. The first time I've grown this one so its possible it doesn't make a lot of tubers so that might be the case for the slightly higher price. Nice flower anyway....
