Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

Bought this one on a whim, since my name is Mary Jo The best bloomer we've ever had. Beautiful color and form, and true to the description it was the first to bloom out of 28 plants in a spot that gets less sun than others, and it hasn't stopped!
This variety is my first one to bloom and has so many more buds coming! Beautiful!
These prolific flowers can be seen from the road on a 2-1/2’ plant. Pretty blooms. Will plant again. Still blooming September 20 with lots of buds. Wish I could post a photo.
Wow this was the best bloomer of my entire collection. It is a huge plant. It is not a short plant as it states. It grew 3 and 1/2 feet. That is ok! Best plant with tons of flowers. Worth the price.
