Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

I live on the far southern coast of Oregon. This variety is being grown in a large above ground container box. This is the first year and I have had enormous luck with this varietal. Big thick stems with large flowers that last forever. The colors are gorgeous. Above average production.
In its second year this dahlia bloomed early and gave me lots & lots of blooms (which I knew how to edit my first year review :). One of my favorites!
I love this dahlia! I selected it as a free gift option & I’m so glad I did. If I had known how lovely it is it would have been my first choice- period. It is slow to bloom, & is not the most prolific, but the flowers are so bright & beautiful & unique
