Dahlias are grown from tubers (similar to a bulb, but thin-skinned like a potato). Plant tubers in the springtime, about the same time as you would your vegetable gardens or when the ground is warm enough to work up and play in daily. Plant them in a full sun location (giving them 6-8 hours of direct sunlight) and enjoy blooms all summer long. They will bloom and provide you with color and abundant flowers for cutting and enjoying throughout the summer.
The more you cut a dahlia plant, the more it will bloom. Most cut dahlias will last up to 5 days once cut and treated.

I am surprised there are no reviews of Zorro yet, so I wanted to give this beauty some review love. It is the surprise favorite of all my dahlias this season. I thought the color would be too dark and not very appealing but I gave it a try anyway. I love being wrong sometimes...I am so in love with this one! It is a stunning deep red, almost magenta. It's my first year growing this one and the blooms are not 11" for me, but it's a good 8-9" and I'm hoping that next year I will get even bigger blooms. Do not hesitate to add this one to your spring order. It's a real keeper! It works well in a vase as a solo bloom, or in a bouquet. I was surprised how amazing it looks with many other varieties.
